SunChild International Environmental Festival is excited to announce the call for entries for this year’s film festival, which takes place from 11th to 14th of November, 2016 in Yerevan, Armenia.
SunChild International Environmental Festival was established in 2007 by the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC).
The organization has since aimed to raise public awareness for environmental issues and to stimulate creative solutions for environmental problems in Armenia and the whole Caucasus region.
As the festival emphasizes the participation of the young generation, it has exhibitions and environmental activities for children. Submissions are open to films that cover problems of our environment and are dedicated to nature (wildlife, sustainable resource management, city environment, ecology and sustainable development, agriculture and environment protection, health and environment, education and environment, etc.).
The deadline for submissions is September 30 2016, but we kindly ask you to send us your films as soon as possible, rather than waiting until the deadline.
Please share this information with anyone who may wish to submit a film. Thanks in advance for your interest and collaboration. We are looking forward to meeting you in Yerevan.
This year we have 3 competition sections. Those are:
International Wildlife Film Competition
This program is dedicated to promoting public awareness and stewardship of wildlife and wildlife habitat and appreciation for the wonders of science through the innovative use of media.
International Environmental Film Competition
Since SunChild IEFF has focused on the aim to raise public awareness for environmental issues and to stimulate an open discussion which helps to develop creative solutions for environmental problems in Armenia and the whole Caucasus region environmental film program is one of the most important parts of the festival. Films on hot topics of today’s environmental issues worldwide are welcome to submit
Youth and Children Film Program
Environmental education of the young generation is one of the most crucial factors for the care of nature and the environment, along with youth participation in political decisions concerning environmental issues. They must be involved in the international investigation of environmental issues. That’s why our special section is dedicated to films and animations on environmental and wildlife topics directed and produced by children and youth worldwide.
Besides main competition festival will present a wide “Informational program”. Most creative and awareness raising films on important environmental topics produced earlier than December 2014 will be included to the program.
