The Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC), together with its General Partner VivaCell-MTS, is pleased to announce the 8th Pan-Armenian Painting Contest open to children and youth ages 5-16, living in Armenia or the Diaspora. Participants can enter the contest by visiting fpwc.org and filling out the submission form.
The theme of this year’s contest is “Family Tree”, a reflection on the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. And the choice of a slogan is symbolic, “Strong Roots, Sweet Fruits”.
The highlight of the contest will be the “Painting Day”, an annual event which will take place at the “Memory Park” of Tsitsernakaberd Memorial this year. On June 1, hundreds of children will come to this open air studio to paint their unique “Family Tree”.
The winners of the contest will receive various prizes, including a bicycle, photo camera, video camera, book, and computer. The best paintings will be displayed in print and online publications, magazines as well as in exhibitions as a unique message to the public.
Since 2008, FPWC together with VivaCell-MTS, has organized the Pan-Armenian Painting Contest, which is part of the foundation’s “SunChild” educational project. Through various programs for children and youth, “SunChild” provides a unique space, where children can express their thoughts, hopes, and concerns about the nature and the environment that surrounds them.
