Installation of outdoor illumination energy efficient systems continues in the borderland villages. This time, in the frames of Alternative Energy project, due to the joint efforts of the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC) and VivaCell-MTS, 41 LED lights were installed in Zaritap village of Vayots Dzor, illuminating 1500 meter long territory.
The introduction of the outdoor energy efficient illumination system is a very vital community development precondition. As a result of the project, community budget expenses will be curtailed and the saved amounts can be directed to the solution of other problems.
On October 21, VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian, the founder of the FPWC Ruben Khachatryan, the head of Zaritap community Simon Babayan and the village population took part in the launching ceremony of the modern system.
“The program implemented in borderland communities resolves more than one problem. We have had opportunities to share about the environmental, energy-saving, economic profitability of the program. But there is one more aspect to reflect on: this infrastructure with the opportunities it offers can become a unique model of business management for the community. It will let manage the modest budget of the community and steer the saved means to efficient implementation of other programs in longer-term perspective. After all, each community has its own approach in assessing the problems, and its principle of prioritizing the solution of those problems,” VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian said.
In comparison with light bulbs, LED lights are capable of lasting for a much longer period of time and consume 80% less electricity.
With the support of VivaCell-MTS, introduction of energy efficient technology, combined with environment friendly components, helps to curtail financial expenses of the community and stimulates village life solving the problem of secure night drive and walk.
The streets of the village will be illuminated from 21:00 until 02:00 in summer time and from 18:00 till 01:00 in winter. During holidays the illumination will be provided for the whole night.
