The management of “ELIT SHANT” LLC, having learned about the process of relocating bears kept in captivity to better living conditions within the framework of cooperation between the Environmental Protection and Subsoil Inspection Body and the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets, applied to the Environmental Protection and Subsoil Inspection Body with a request to relocate the bear kept in the restaurant complex owned by the company, located at 2 Janibekyan Street, Yerevan.

On December 4, at 11:00 AM, based on a tripartite agreement between the Environmental Protection and Subsoil Inspection Body, the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets, and “ELIT SHANT” LLC, the relevant specialists of the Zoo, after sedating the bear in advance and with the support of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations staff, transported the 11-year-old bear named Dasha to the Yerevan Zoo.

The bear will remain at the zoo until the end of the quarantine period, after which specialists will determine its further fate.

It should be noted that, as a result of an inspection visit carried out by employees of the Yerevan territorial division of the Inspection Body, it was determined that the conditions of keeping the bear at the premises of “ELIT SHANT” LLC comply with the requirements set by the RA Government Decision No. 725-N of June 26, 2009.
